As I am planning on traveling around China for a while before I settle down as a student at Capital Normal University in Beijing, I am faced with a problem. Whilst I will want my Computer, Books and some other hefty belongings with me for my year abroad, I certainly don’t intend to travel around with them in my rucksack. Furthermore, with some rather heavy Spanish and French dictionaries in my bag, I’ll almost certainly be over the weight limit at the airport. A solution is required (and quickly!).

It so happens that at our most recent year abroad meeting, some students brought to my attention the Worldwide Shipping and Storage company, Seven Seas Worldwide. This company provides door-to-port or door-to-door shipping internationally, both by air and by sea. Furthermore, the company also offers storage services. This looks like it could be just my thing. My intention is to send a shipment of my non-essential belongings to China before I leave. By sea, this will take about 8 weeks, by which time I will have settled into my student-accommodation and will be ready for the academic year. If the shipment arrives early, I can request for it to be put into storage until I need it. Problem Solved!
