Took this photo from my phone. The rain here has been crazy the last couple of days! The streets literally turn to rivers - a few of the locals were having boat races out of their front doors!! Me and Louis both got off the bus after a swim and were caught out in a downpour. Not wanting to wait we stripped off down to our shorts and ran like mad - the locals (sensibly refuging in shops) certainly found it highly amusing!
Was just getting some cash from an ATM today when the machine decided to swallow my credit card - much to my annoyment! Apparently this occurs quite often in China!
Anyway, I’ve cancelled the card and will hopefully get a new one soon. Meanwhile I will have to try and get by on my debit card for a while. At least the machine was kind enough to give my money!
So it was Roberto’s last night in Beijing and we had promised to take him out for some Beijing Duck before he left. We asked at reception for recommendations and we found a lovely restaurant where we were given our own private room. Somehow word had got around and there were 10 of us, mainly from the ‘Red Lantern Hostel’ that attended! We ordered all sorts of dishes alongside the duck and it was a delicious meal! Yum!
